CatWrangler — Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how CatWrangler LLC ("CatWrangler," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares personal data when you use the CatWrangler platform, websites, and services (the "Service"), and your rights regarding that data.

This policy covers personal data about our website visitors, prospective customers, and the authorized users of our customers. Where we process personal data contained in a customer's repositories or account on the customer's behalf, we act as a processor, and that processing is governed by our agreement and Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with that customer.

1. Data We Collect

You provide:

  • Account & contact data — name, work email, company, role, credentials.
  • Billing data — billing contact and, via our payment processor, payment

details (we do not store full card numbers).

  • Support & communications — messages, tickets, and correspondence.

Customer content:

  • Repositories and Customer Data — source code, configuration, and related

content you submit. This may incidentally contain personal data (e.g., commit author names/emails). We process this only to provide the Service and as a processor under the DPA. We do not use it to train AI models (see §4).

Collected automatically:

  • Usage & device data — log data, IP address, browser/device info, pages

and features used, timestamps.

  • Cookies and similar technologies — see §7.

Private preview access logging: While CatWrangler is in private preview, access is limited to invited email addresses. When you view the preview, we log your email address together with the pages you visit and basic request metadata (timestamp, browser user-agent) so we can understand how invited users engage with the preview. This applies only to the gated preview, not to the public website.

2. How We Use Personal Data

We use personal data to: provide, operate, secure, and support the Service; authenticate users and prevent fraud or abuse; process payments; communicate about the Service, including service and security notices; provide customer support; analyze and improve the performance and reliability of the Service (using usage/telemetry data, not customer source code, for model training); and comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases (GDPR/UK GDPR). Where applicable we rely on: performance of a contract; our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service; consent (e.g., certain cookies or marketing); and compliance with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Personal Data

We share personal data with: subprocessors and service providers that help us run the Service (hosting, AI inference, analytics, payments, support) under contracts that limit their use of the data — see our subprocessor list in the DPA; professional advisors; authorities when legally required; and a successor in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. AI Models and Your Data

CatWrangler uses third-party large language models to power its agents. We do not use Customer Data — including your source code — to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model, and our AI subprocessors are contractually prohibited from training on Customer Data submitted through the Service. Customer Data sent to a model is used only to generate Output for you in that session.

5. International Data Transfers

We may process personal data in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum), as described in the DPA.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. Customer Data is retained per the customer's agreement and the DPA, and is deleted or returned after termination subject to the export window in the Terms and any legal-retention requirements.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, security, and analytics. You can control non-essential cookies through our cookie banner or your browser settings.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. EEA/UK residents have rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale"/"sharing" (we do neither), and not to be discriminated against for exercising rights.

To exercise rights, contact us at privacy@catwrangler.ai. Where we process data on a customer's behalf, we will refer the request to that customer. You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

9. Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data. No system is perfectly secure; please use strong credentials and protect your account.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

11. Changes

We may update this policy and will post the new effective date; for material changes we will provide additional notice.
